The Town of Winnipeg Beach will be having a Municipal Election on July 24, 2026, to fill the current positions of 4 councillors and 1 mayor.

VOTER LIST UPDATE

We are currently updating the List of Voters for the upcoming Election on Friday, July 24, 2026

All registered property owners will be placed on the List of Voters automatically. Properties held by more than 2 non-resident voters have been sent a form to select 2 non-resident voters.

If you are a permanent resident and you are not a property holder (i.e. spouse, child over 18 years of age, or a tenant) you must notify the Senior Election Officer, Leah McIsaac at 204-782-2146, to be placed on the List of Voters. Updates to the Voters list must be completed prior to June 18, 2026.

It is important to note:  Properties purchased after January 23, 2026 will not have any eligible voters, as per The Municipal Councils and School Boards Elections Act.  A resident must also have resided in the Town of Winnipeg Beach prior to January 23, 2026.

Notice is hereby given that a vote of the Town of Winnipeg Beach will be taken to elect Mayor and Councillors from the following duly nominated candidates:

VOTING PLACES

Voting places will be open for voting on Friday the July 24th, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 pm. at the Winnipeg Beach Municipal Recreation Centre, 32 Hamilton Avenue.

 

ADVANCE VOTING

For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have reason to believe that they will be absent or otherwise unable to attend their proper voting place on election day, an advance voting opportunity will be located at Winnipeg Beach Municipal Recreation Centre and will be open during each of the following days Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11th between 8:00 am. and 8:00 pm.

Advanced poles will also be available in Winnipeg on Tuesday, July 14th at the Dakota Community Centre, 1188 Dakota Street from noon to 8:00 pm.

IDENTIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE.  A person may be required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example - driver’s license or passport) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.

APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE

A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance may apply in person, in writing, or by email to:

If applying in person*, a voter may apply between June 26th and July 21st.

*A voter applying in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.

If applying by mail or email**, a voter may apply between June 12th and July 21st.

** A voter applying by mail or email will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the senior election official.

 

If the application is received less than 12 days (on or after July 12), the voter is responsible to make arrangements to pick up the ballot envelope as well as ensuring it is received by the SEO before 8 pm on Election Day, July 24, 2026.
